Thunderhead Keep: Taunting me?
Well, I've tried every strategy, read the post further down on this page, but I can't seem to find a way to get through this mission. I've tried about ten times, but I can't seem to find an intelligent, capable party. At one point we had a good thing going, and our only mistake was being too occupied to notice those two Jade Armors sneaking up on Jalis. I understand that was a stupid mistake, but I can't even seem to get to that point again.
Over half the time, someone goes rogue and leaves us. Just now I had two members leave because one person died and they didn't believe we can do it. I understand how some people think this mission is a breeze, but aside from that one time, I can't seem to find a dedicated group of people. Oi, not sure what to do. Wish the Ring of Fire was on the mainland so I could just walk to it. Most of the strategic parties have no room for an N/Me.
If anyone has any ideas at all, I would be grateful. With the game's end in four missions, I'd hate to be stuck here.

Do it with henchie, you can be sure they won't leave in the middle of the mission. Sometime, even if it's funnier with other player, henchman is the best solution to incompetent. It's very doable with henchman, just go slowly and watch what you do.

I too play N/Me as my primary, although I was lucky enough to get a decent group on my ~4th attempt. N/Me is such a disrespected class - I can't work out why, because those that give them a chance suddenly love Blood Wells and Blood is Power/Blood Ritual.
As far as killing the bosses goes - it depends on which attributes you have skilled. I find Domination Magic very useful against Mursaat - Power Spike for stopping Chain Lightning, Empathy to chip away at Jade Armour/Bows, Backfire for the Necromancers/Mesmers/Monks. The only problem I really hit is if the boss monster is a Monk - in which case Blackout is my only idea, although trusting henchies to kill it in 5 seconds is a tall order.

If you have a water elementalist...Maelstrom completely destroys monk bosses.

I know what this sounds like, but here goes:
This is an easy mission. There is only one rule: STAY WITH THE KING. Just that. Sure, you might win while running back & forth between gates, but it would be luck. Just stick together in ONE group and defend at the top of the stairs. It gets scary, but it's really the best way. Do not light beacons. Do not worry about catapults (you can use at beginning, but they are useless against fast moving jades). I've completed it 4 times, once with henchies.

Turns out it was all about a good group. I found one and we simply breezed through it. Thanks to all for the advice, just finished Hell's Precipice and I'm starting on completing all bonuses and 15k armor.

For me the hardest part was clearing the fort before the mursaat even started coming. Jalis kept attacking the group in the middle. It happened with hecnhies, and a good group of people i was with.

I wholeheartedly recommend doing this mission with henchmen. I tried and failed a few times with some fairly bad groups, but I breezed through with henchmen.
You will have to be careful while pulling mobs as the henchmen AI tends to be quite aggressive, but this is certainly manageable. I found going slow and steady with the AI preferable to humans that aggro everything in sight, monks that insult and don't heal, and all the rest. Put your faith in Mhenlo, Cynn, Aiden and the rest!

i made it past thunderhead keep on my first try, granted i had an (what seemed to be) experienced group with me. what we did was 2 people man the balistas (1 person on each side) and just constantly spam them while the rest of the group fights off the mobs that get into the fort, also the 2 people on the balistas came to help whenever someone targetspammed. (that sorta became our call for; "OVER HERE! NOW!")
